Thread regarding Viacom Inc. layoffs

Reorganization with no end in sight

We've started the process of the latest reorganization over a year ago, and while we are supposed to be done with it we seem to be anything but.

How long do they plan to keep this uncertainty over our heads? If we knew more about what's going on that'd be one thing, but there is zero transparency about the whole process. Despite everything that's been done we still don't have a clear picture about where Viacom is headed in the long run.

This reorganization has already cost a lot of really god man and women their jobs. Any more layoffs would be devastating for the company, and yet they seem inevitable. This really needs to stop.

Oh how I would love to name the Research (Ad Sales and CI) execs (VP-EVP) who should be the first to go. Stay tuned...I might.

If Disney is able to successfully buy the Fox properties we are toast. We'll be swooped up or merged with another company and almost everyone here will be out of a job.

The massive layoffs are definitely coming soon (after holidays). Bob couldn't start his "reign" with layoffs, but now that there's some positive momentum with Jim G and better ratings at MTV/Nick, he's developed some goodwill with shareholders. Big layoffs will be seen as necessary to continue supposed momentum (and/or make us more attractive as either an acquisition target or merger partner with CBS). The next year or so is going to be one of the worst, as Brad Grey slate disaster needs to run its course, and who knows what Fox-Disney deal means for us. Good luck to all...
