Just a theory - every L2 had to cut a %. The alerts and cases team were recently re-orged to a new leader. From who’s perspective there were other teams more imp to protect.

I have never heard of giving them two months notice. Does this mean the people let go yesterday will NOT get severance?

This was the only team as of the entire APM knows were dealing with "real" customers directly and adding value to their requirements. Heard they trained the support teams already to maintain the existing customers and hence they all were let go! What a pity! People who were helping to generate the revenues were let go.

Good luck them keeping customers (few of them they have). I was at a big customer, Friday evening, there was a small issue, needed a support ticket. the customer's director said - literally - "do not open the ticket now, because then it will be picked up overseas! (guess where) Open it on monday during US working hours." Shoker.

They were one of the best performing teams on APM Core. Let go because they have an extension team that has been trained well enough to sustain/expand the product teams in India.

In GE San Ramon out of 100 managers/directors only 10 % are kind of good fit. Rest are horrible. Many good leaders are long gone. When it comes to engineering teams, lot of fake resumes. One simple example, a girl born in 1989 completed her undergrad degree in 2009/10, Joined GE Digital in 2012 showing 7+ years of experience. Dude, is the HR so stupid ? its a simple math man. And she got promoted 3 times in 5 years. She is a senior technical product manager now. This is just one example, we can easily pick at least 100 employees like this from the San Ramon building alone.

because they are one of the worst teams ever. Rank 1 for worst team goes to Predix team. Rank 2 goes to APM. So nothing surprising.

Yup, it was the whole APM alerts/cases/templates in San Ramon. I heard work is moving to India, not Roanoke....

I had hears redundancy between San Ramon and Roanoke in that area. Roanoke remains San Ramon gives way.
