Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

IT costs Intel $13,000 per employee

This is ridiculous. No other company spends this much.

In 2015, I heard a figure of 5000 employees in IT. Do others agree or have heard of similar figures?

Are they trying to make Intel Heaven on Earth?

It is not just providing employees with PCs. It includes cost of building and supporting all factory automation systems, all tools used by product design groups etc. It looks high at first glance but unless we need to see details .

Just curious what the IT burden cost is on a monthly basis per employee? Probably includes cost of laptop/network-wifi access/applications/etc.. I could definately see them charging $1000/mo burden rate per US employee.. Like a very expensive lease payment?

Where's your source? However if your source is legitimate, I wouldn't be surprised. IT is one of the dept that travels the most on a regular basis with biz class for large amount of staff. Not to mention IT's regular meeting parties, all on Intel expense. But I am not sure about your claimed amount though. $13,000 per employee seems unreal even for IT's huge spending budget.
