@fbb - Keep deluding yourself, prinary objective is to lower costs by any means necessary. This means getting rid of the expensive (usually old) and bringing in cheap (usually young and foreign).
Agree with OP, bring in cheap Indian engs by the hundreds!
Or if you look at it from a more realistic perspective: Fire the old people with obsolete skills, then hire new motivated people with relevant skills.
And how would you know if the foreign labor is „cheap“. You are not a hiring manager and you are not in HR, so you have no insight into salary structures. You only believe what you want to believe.
