So I managed a WW program. In this layoff they laid me off and two other region leads. Boss actually asked me if he could call me after I was laid off if he had any questions on managing the program........to boot he is from Europe and when I told him I don't have international service he pressured me to provide a way for him to get in touch!

They laid me off and then asked me to give a training turn over. If they said my job is no longer needed and the reason I was laid off, then why ask me? I would assume the other people on the team had it covered. As far as I am concerned the job is no longer needed.
Yep, kinda same thing happened to me and my customers at the time I was jettisoned.
$200/hr .. HP(E) didn't bite, stumbled around and didn't bite but my old customers did.
You owe HPE everything you have! Of course, you should help him out! Being Facetious... Personally, I would say yes and then not really help by being obtuse or sending an email the minute the call is made demanding they accept my fees. If he/she doesn't respond with a "yes", then ask him if he/she is an NBA fan and then strike up a conversation about it.
Most of the people in this forum blamed H1B or so called “cheap labor” from the East. Yet, no one ever complains the European who always pretend they are more qualified and entitled to get to upper management in US. They need the U.S paycheck and yet they are arrogant and laugh about U.S.
Op, ignore your boss and move on.
Yes, YTI is right - don't work free. Tell him your rate and get a contract.
Not surprised...HPE had been laying hard working United States workers and shifting work out of the country (mine went to Costa Rica)...then they want you to train the person taking your job. Very disappointed in how this company has gone down hill.
Simple answer...you want me to help you manage this, my rate is $200 per hour.
Sounds like a selfish jerk
