There are several scrum teams who have been sitting for the past 3 quarters waiting for a Product Strategy or roadmap to be in place. Many of the good engineers got so bored that they either quit or moved to other groups. This is in the Apps organization by the way, especially the manufacturing folks. The new App strategy unveiled by Eddy Amos does not have a lot for these teams in San Ramon. So they should pack their bags.
Instead of teams across the East and West cost to be better integrated, they have made all of San Ramon as what they call App Foundation, which is code for we will not need you soon and the front end product will now be built in Roanoke. and by the way the guys in Roanoke have no cloud experience whatsoever and still build software that is shipped in CDs. They have good subject matter but technology is very weak, they do not understand distributed computing or any aspects of PaaS, the folks who know PaaS are in San Ramon and they are getting ready to be fired.
This organization is also doomed now. GE should not make software, they should stick with core engineering, build the engines, turbines etc and leave the Software to the nimble Software shops.
