Honest question. Aside from layoffs that caused stress to everybody in the company but are now (hopefully) a thing of the past, working here is quite enjoyable to me. Intel itself had a rocky period, but that too seems to be over and we are looking at good days ahead. So I'll admit to be surprised at all the negative posts (not counting the trolls) on this board. Am I missing something in the big picture?

All the hate is coming from disgruntled ex-employees.
You guys just don't know what's ahead of you; good luck
You must not work here, OR your grade is double digits. Otherwise it would be obvious to you.
Lack of honorable behavior
Constant layoffs will continue as the klown's fake news propaganda campaign as well as CFO Bob's to-the-bone cost cutting and number fudging is working to artificially prop up the stock price.
Unfortunately layoffs and restructuring will likely occur to meet the aggressive cost goals, there is really no other way to do it.
„There's something quite questionable about Intel's financials. Revenue growth seems to be coming from mergers/acquisitions (at the cost of huge debt“
That is the definition of „investing“.
„what‘s with all the austerity measures“
That is a result of something called „refocussing“ (i.e. taking money from one place in the company and putting it into another“
Congratulations, you learned something today.
There's something quite questionable about Intel's financials. Revenue growth seems to be coming from mergers/acquisitions (at the cost of huge debt), and it's not clear where the core business is going, i.e. with 10 nm delays and competition heating up. If Intel is doing so great, what's with all the austerity measures while also having record revenue & high stock prices? It feels like the company is going bankrupt, lots of cost cutting here and there... not the sign of a healthy company who values their employees.
More ACTs a certainty, BK and the BoD showed their true colors the past two years. First sign of trouble, $hit on the employees!

ACT showed how much HR and the company's management really care about the people and how much the Intel values are really worth.
I have seen a lot of unethical behaviour at Intel during ACT (e.g. CAPs that were designed to make the employee fail, with a fixed pre-set date where the employee will be let go due to that failure - given to managers by HR). I couldn't report those ethics violations though, because they came from HR. And at Intel, reports of ethics violations go to HR.
Also, ACT really exposed the problems in the Focal process - how Focal makes team members compete rather than cooperate, because no matter what, teams are rated on a bell curve. So if you want a good rating, someone else has to get a bad rating. And you want a good rating, because a bad rating may imply that you are first in line in the next round of layoffs.
It is easy for a company to be a great employer when everything is going well. But when a company goes through hard times or needs to refocus (and I completely agree that intel needed to refocus), companies show their true face. And Intel's true face is horribly ugly.
That is where the hate is coming from. Nobody at Intel can trust their managers and the management in general anymore. Especially because no ethical human being could have remained a manager at Intel after ACT.
Honestly, this seems like a trolling question, but I will gamely answer: we've seen the lies firsthand. And we don't like being lied to.
you need to put on some glasses for sure...
