Sears Will Survive A Bit Longer; Kmart Will Not

I am going to be a doomsayer as I have been on this site but I do not care. I'm sure that Sears itself will not die next year (though won't be surprised if it does) and perhaps they can hang on for a bit longer. But don't think for a second that Kmart will be spared from it being completely dead either. In fact, Kmart being sold off and sacrificed is probably part of fast Eddie's plans to keep his company alive longer.

Do you really think he wants to revive the less than 500; out of date stores?? No, of course not. He sees Kmart stores as cash grabs via selling the property to the high bidder. Whatever plans Eddie has for Sears, Kmart is for sure not going to be a long term part of that plan; it will be the short term plan of selling it off to help maybe prop up the Sears stores for a bit longer.

But Eddie for sure wishes he could get rid of Kmart as quickly as he can but he also knows he can't offload it all at once because that will make his stock price tank like a m------f----. So instead, he's just slowly bleeding Kmart enough to where once they are gone, no one will really notice or care at that point.

So those that are trapped in Kmart's grip, I really hope you can escape and escape soon. I put myself in this category myself and I pray I will get my out sooner rather than later.

I think kmart is a better store than

Sears. Their clothes are well made and just like everything else much cheaper than Sears.

Melania loves that Jaclyn Smith line and visiting Kmart. So stylish. Makes her relatable to common folks who don't have gold plated toilet seats and gold gold plated chairs to sit on. She even used the bathroom when they visited Kmart and commented on how unique the experience was.

Kind of sad to see the Kmarts going down here.. Check out the Sears stores in the area and they are the low class dumps with no shoppers . Sacrifice the Kmarts to the wolves here would be horrific..

The PR locations are ok.

Trump and Melania stopped in the small one yesterday.

Excuse me it was 2011. Here is the link advertising the opening of the store

They might be referring to the Kmart express (not to be confused with the Kmart gas station) that was opened in Puerto Rico in 2012. It's a small Walgreens sized store in a mall that was a test to see if an express style store would work. Very little information on the store and I have no idea if it still is in operation, especially after the hurricanes.

Really? 2012? I thought the last new Kmart to be open was 2002!

Eddie could have have saved kmart but he won't. All the stores are gonna shut down. Imagine if he actually invested in the brand. Kmart could have had a shot in the beginning instead of those stupid sears essentials stores and him buying back stock. If was him I would have invested in the superkmart program to battle walmart and target with decent pricing and expanded distribution , smaller formats of big kmart stores, expanded k dollar stores format to battle dollar trees and worked on the image problem. But what do I know. Kmart could have thrived. I just a low paid grunt
