I think the writing was on the wall for all folks at Lenovo.
After the server group was offered buyout packages a few months back, it was fairly obvious that some action would be taken with the PC and phone businesses too.
I talked to my manager after the server action and volunteered to retire if a package came down for the PC side.
So yesterday I received my package and all is good.
I hope my voluntary retirement saved someone else's job.
My heart goes out to everyone who is impacted by these layoffs.
I hope everyone can find new jobs with comparable pay and benefits.
