Didn't see one person let go on my floor but heard cabs were outside and some Managers were let go.. Canton and Midwest lost some too! I think tomorrow will be lower level associates.
So much for Customer Service Week, large numbers of people have been and are being let go today.
I can't wait to see what the next rumored layoff date will be when nothing happens tomorrow.
There is no obligation by any company to provide packages regardless of prior practice. Each "workforce reduction" is treated and viewed as a separate occurrence. Additionally packages provided in June varied by employee some made out very well, others not so much. Not sure about KC, but In Massachusetts you are an "employee at will" and can be terminated for no reason/cause and the only compensation is for unpaid hours owed up until the termination.
Those laid off a few months ago got packages so I would think they could face lawsuits if they denied them now!
Believe it when it happens
Word has it, no packages will be offered. Those who left on their own accord since the last layoff knew this. Enough said.
I posted before about packages because I heard they might not give them for this layoff. Anyone know
It will be interesting to see what happens this week. It's Customer Service Week - cNt imagine they'd do anything. I truly believe nothing is going on.
BFDS/DST realized in hindsight that they mismanaged the June reduction by letting go certain employees that unbeknownst to their own managers processed specific quarter-end client tasks. Not wanting to chance a repeat now that the quarter has passed target date(s) are the 4th-6th.
So many people were sure it was going to be 9/29-9/30. I'm starting to think nobody has a clue.
Some people don't like to give details, as it may expose their identity. Let the day come, then we'll know.
Anything concrete to back that up?
