Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Hey Suddenlink?

A couple months have passed since the election have you signed over to Ats yet and lost your tenure employees with 5 years plus issues with starting in a new job.

  1. Heard a tech applied for credit got denied because he worked for a new company.

  2. They can fire you for any reason I know at will status much easier at a new job.

  3. Change the terms even more drastic than a established company?

  4. If you think Altice is financially unstable imagine being a part of a subsidiary of Altice? not good

5 comments Ats things that you did not expect while joining or if you can take back?

The real truth is that cable is dead.1.2 mill video discos in Q3.Ask a union Directv guy what they push to customers now.Cellular based sim card fed video servers.Within 10 years it will all be completely i.p. based services, nullifying 90% of the labor force.A.I bots will take over most of human dispatch tasks.Aside from that ATT and Verizon are pushing for 5g repeaters in "exclusive cable/phone co." footprints, creating real competition in strangleholds. On top of that its wireless,so you guessed it NO TECHS NEEDED.Take some i.t. courses, brush up on fiber optic certs. The end for tech ops is near....

The Pay cut / Bonus thing in the east was OPTIONAL. Most guys decided not to do it and kept their Cablevision salaries instead.

ATS aren't contractors. I don't know why guys keep perpetuating that lie. It's a scare tactic. No one has been asked to signed form 1099-MISC thus ATS workers are still salaried employees. There is PLENTY to criticise this company for-- the broken point system, dispatch on hold times, lack of equipment, lack of communication, understaffing issues etc.. etc... -- so why continue to make up unnecessary lies. If your intention is to encourage us to fight for a union then focus on the real issues, not these scare tactics.

Suddenlink Amarillo depot voting no to the union was our biggest mistake and now everyone is seeing it! No lunch breaks, no help for the hiring freeze, 30 minute installs stakedbon everyone all day long, don't know what time you are gonna get off, 1 hour hold time with dispatch, the list keeps growing! All those empty promises hahaha this place is a joke!

They asking you guys to take pay cut yet? Do the bonus thing. They will change points on you. They did it in the East.

Let's just call it what it is Ats is a sham to make techs contractors, and get rid of veteran skilled employees because they are making what altice doesn't want to pay. They want a cheap unskilled workforce period. Get ready, at the end you will get paid per job believe me it's coming just keep following their game plan. Fearless reinvention, training, ok, you've been informed. i just don't want to hear techs saying I was unaware. All this information is out there.

Is any suddenlink techs even union? I haven't heard any union talks at all at suddenlink. Only they are just transitioning all of us to ATS and there will be no job offers offered just making us ATS ...not sure how that's going to all work ...bc won't we have to sign something since it's a different company ? Not just a name change right ? We didn't sign anything when we were bought by Altice ? ??? Everyone seems to be really worried what's going on ...tech workforce is low and management is almost non existent because of VRP and techs just leaving .

No one is making stuff up, The stuff I said happened maybe the guy was lying but I sincerely doubt it. How about the guys that did not get paid on time is that a lie too. I have no fight if you go union or not I just do not understand the reason of creating a new company, the only reason is to cut cost that is a known fact, so stop putting this as union propaganda because it is not it is to cut cut cut. Here's a link for when they first launched it read it thoroughly and then comment.

When I look it up it still shows my original start date. So I guess that means I kept my tenure. I don’t know SEC laws so I’m not sure why we were able to cash out our retirement but I’m glad I was able to as it helped me with my down payment on my mortgage. Certainly nothing is perfect here. Far from it. There are too many real things we are getting screwed on to start making stuff up though

Divide and conquer at its best, just pay your employees on time I guess that's a lie too, Mr troll. Open your eyes and ears and don't fall for the Bs question everything because if they implement something it's for their good not yours.

I am not scaring anyone just keeping people informed, with facts. If that was the case, that you keep your tenure how could the guys take out their cash balance, you are voluntarily separating yourself from the company, then why don't you offer Ats a vrp that would be a no because you cant they have no real time in the company, So just keep with the lies, mortgage give me a break, I know you can't help yourself you already won you got 95 percent to sign over, the only way you would keep your tenure is if Ats acquired Altice and you know that's not the case.

Still trying to scare people huh? You do keep your tenure. Also I got a mortgage 3 months after going over to ATS without an issue. They just asked by the years I worked and the company name was different. Told them why and no problems. I doubt someone got denied a credit card over this.

HEY UNION GUY....!!..go spend some time with your family , instead of trying to scare people... we know it's unknow right now.. we don't need u to point it out... or you have no family , because they think your a rebal rousing douche too...

No you won't and it's not an easy fight especially if you sign off voluntarily maybe if they force it with no signature at suddenlink but in Ats the guys signe a voluntary separation agreement

They pushing it back because they cannot automatically transition you, you have to sign over so you can lose your tenure and treat you like a new employee.

Running out of equipment every day ,not knowing if you can complete your route. Wondering if it can get any worse before it gets better. If it gets better. Looking my family in the face every night an telling them this place will improve. ( knowing that the machine has finally broken). Feeling like another brick in the wall, or the small fish in a big fu#king pond....... either way i think its time to drop the mic, an stop lieing to myself this place will grow. 😔

We did not get a choice and have not "officially " been made ATS...very weird they keep pushing it back further... very skeptical of the entire thing. Everyone is...no job offers will be made they are just transitioning us all over with no choice...nothing is really being communicated.
