Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell employs 25,000 in India or 18% of its workforce.

I guess more should be moved.

Say good bye to the overpaid, arrogant tech worker in the US…

stupid US people giving all the important jobs to Indians for the cost when they eventually move to US and become citizens there itself earning even more than the original engineers the company slaughtered for the seemingly "cheaper" alternatives.

I find some young engineers are good. India doesn't have good senior engineering talent as best of these engineers move to greener pastures to US.

My experience with BDC storage team in India who are sustaining eqaullogic has been pathetic to say the least. They find it difficult to even fix minor defects and whenever they change even minor things they mess up. It takes four engineers in BDC to do the job of one person in US. That too they do a pathetic job. The senior principal engineers are not hands on and only good at obfuscating issues. But this technically incompetent team fits the bill as the product is getting end of life and you need these people to keep it in palliative care till its death

From my experience in VMAX what takes Cork Ireland or Hopkinton MA 2 hours requires 2-3 weeks in Bangalore. :) There are some excellent Engineers in Bangalore (IE IIT graduates) ... and they are on the way to US or some other developed economy.

Bangalore is one dirty polluted dump.

Joke or no joke people are suffering from cognitive dissonance at Round Rock. Not sad to see, since this has been in works for a while. Capitalism left USA a long time ago.

I am not from India, not from US, not a caucassian. But speaking from real experience, India engineers s---s balls. They are talkers not doers, and they bully their own peers. The support people are just brainless cheap minions doing exactly what they are paid for. Value for money. There are some awesome techies in US particularly Texas, they are superb thinkers, and doers. But they are not 10 times cheaper than a general people manager. Capitalism prefers cheap blind transactions not creativity

Ha ha ha, good joke.

It sure does hurt when jobs go away but writing derogatory comments only makes others question the writers wisdom without generating any sympathy.

There is no innovation in India. They are underpaid rickshaw pullers with low productivity. Good for grunt work at best.
