I hear expats laid-off in USA get better packages then US local. Better pay all along and even better severance to expats. What a great motivator for hard working Americans!

Americans are fat and lazy
Expat severance is based on your base country not your host country. Much like minimum wage, European countries tend to have much more favorable terms/conditions then the USA.
