I'm getting ready to go into work, but I am dreading even the idea. I managed to survive yesterday, but many of my colleagues didn't. Yesterday was carnage. Anybody has any idea if it's done, or if Lenovo plans to continue with layoffs today? And is it just me, or did this come out of nowhere? I know there are always whispers of possible layoffs, but on this scale? Or was I just completely out of it, and it was obvious?

Rumors had been circulating around DCG specifically for a couple months. It's possible other groups didn't get warnings like we did.
I think the writing was on he wall. After the server group was offered buyout packages a few months back, it was fairly obvious that some action would be taken with the PC and phone businesses too. I talked o my manager after the server action and volunteered to retire if a package came down for the PC side. So yesterday I received my package and all is good. I hope my voluntary retirement saved someone else's job. My heart goes out to everyone who is impacted by these layoffs. I hope everyone can find new jobs with comparable pay and benefits.
