I was a blue badge laid off this week. One thing I learned in the exit Webex is that you can't come back and work at Cisco as a red badge for a duration of six months. However, you can come back immediately as a blue badge but depending on when you come back you may have to repay part of your severance package.

I got my notice 2 weeks ago and found another team, so staying on as a blue badge. I think as long as you find something before the termination date you stay a blue badge (if that rack is a blue badge rack).
Go work for the competition. Cisco culture is terrible.
Yes:
I heard it depends on the contract your department has with the supplier.

If it's named resource, good luck with that. If it's general staff augmentation with no named resources, you might be able to go back pretty quick. If it's "outcome based", and you don't need a Cisco. Com Online account to do the work, go back straight away!
There is an exception process in place for a current/former Blue Badge to be hired as a Red Badge. Just need to escalate the issue to the Cisco HR Partner for the business unit for a review. The irony is that Cisco can freely hire Red Badge employees into Blue Badge with no restriction.
Certainly possible, I've done it. Yes, if you got a separation bonus, you'll have to repay some pro-rated amount if you return in that time frame.
This is nuts, it’s the best job market in many years. There is so much opportunity out there. Over on.
You'll need to be friends with a Grade 13+ to obtain a blue badge again.
I know of one possibly two blue badges who have. It's not common though. Usually they come back as contractors.
Correct
I've never heard of someone being rehired as a blue badge within six months.
