Get on the HUB and READ the policy on severance. If possible find the changes and dates of the changes to this policy. Save this info to an outside location. It use to be 1 week for each year of service up to 16 weeks. (I'm sure they have F,cked that but look anyway. DON'T ACCEPT THE FIRST OFFER AND DEMAND THE ORIGINAL POLICY!

Bitter, not at all... got mine and long long gone.... hence the posting name.
Severance packages WILL NOT be the same with PE owning Staples. It is terrible for employees that remain. Shira sold the company out and completely screwed employees. Sad, very sad,

I don't think I'd call the OP bitter. This just seems like a warning of actuvity that can be potentially damamging to those affected by cuts. It's a fair warning because this is just one thing companies do while making cuts and other changes after a private equity firm buyout.
