Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

October 2017 layoffs

Layoffs are coming again in October (next week). Confirmed by numerous inside the company at several levels of Sr Director and above. The date was originally the 4th of October but it may get pushed. Possibly 150 to 300 people at Fort Lauderdale HQ alone. Global Employee meeting to follow on the 10th with "details to come". Also, just announced internally last week, WW Sales and Americas Sales - top 2 leaders are both "retiring". Also, check out the latest pull of the last two Netscaler builds.

Kirill would have never let quality lapse like that. It is time for us all to see things as how they are and not what they were and move on. The heart and soul, the Citrix family, the "Citrix Culture" we so loved is a thing of the past. We are now another corporate entity focused only on the bottom dollar and employees are just numbers. At least we can take comfort that in the end Elliot Group, the board and their share holders will learn that technology stems from innovation and vision which are creative qualities that stem from passion. "You're just an empty cage if you kill the bird".

Farewell friends, it was an amazing journey before it wasn't. Thank you to Mark, Kirill and David for everything! Much respect to David for not giving up and passionately going down with the ship.

Not my post, I am bumping up @OFd8QhN-Mosp as it deserves its own thread.

Citrix culture died in the first layoffs. It's been downhill ever since.

Any guesstimate on the cull percentage in FTL?

If the pay off is good then I’ll be glad to go. I haven’t felt comfortable in Citrix for several years since they began carrying out lay offs every few years. You sit there working your a-- off not knowing if you’re going to be there in 6 months time. All the while the CEO pockets $35m for less than 2 years work and Bob Calderoni sticks his snout into $20m last year alone.

Won't such a thing be in contrast with David's statement that there won't be any big event if layoffs?

Some people are asking who may be targeted. I personally don't know but as we saw in 2015, it's everyone. Nobody is safe and it also doesn't help to stress about it. Update your resumes and setup your game plans. This is how it is and it's not personal. The severance will help and the economy is strong. Jobs are out there. Everything will work out. That's just life.

Are any particular departments being targeted? Or is it a general kull so we can afford to keep paying the board members rick star wages?

They are coming in October. Sadly it's not rumors as you will see in the next 7-14 days. . I can confirm that as someone who has been in those discussions as well. It's part of any business and should be expected at any corporate company. Multiple offices will be affected so just sit tight which is all you can do.

Please Don't spread rumors, Citrix is perfectly fine company.

Layoffs are definitely coming. The question is the same, "who will it be this time around." Will it be the "bottom performers?" Will it be "last in, first out?" Will it be someone from the "legacy good old boy/girls club?" Who? If anyone knows how decisions are made at Citrix, it will be the folks who are the hardest working. Those who are part of the "circles" will survive. That's what history has shown us at Citrix. Nonetheless, everyone has an expiration date so it's only a matter of time before those circles break apart. Citrix will soon be brought out so those left behind will be in the unemployment line soon enough.

Big Dave only needs to last another 17 months to get his $35m pay off if Kiril is anything to go by

I think so. More that it would be ongoing and not a single event.

Didn’t Henshall specifically state there would be no big lay off event?

FYI, this is happening all over the place, in companies everywhere.

Spend some time on "Latest Posts" for a very eye opening experience. You will see your situation is not unique, and is in fact the norm since 2017.

The world is changing, the good times are over. Only question is how long it takes to reach your individual doorstep, but it will..it will.

I concurred with your sentiments until you started praising Henshall. Henshall is instrumental in Citrix’s demise and perhaps the one who stabbed Mark T in the back.

It makes sense to leave the sinking ship. The fact that Carlos Sartorious is retiring means that the wily old fox believes that he can no longer flog the increasingly useless software. Carlos is an astute and cunning fellow. The heavy discounting over the past few quarters indicates that Citrix just wanted to make some good numbers to prop up the share price at the long term expense of the company and people.
