Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

More Layoffs to come in November

Layoffs in the woodlands last week, and I'm certain that in November whenever APTIM finally take a over Capitol services in November we will see more lay offs. They are going to sell both buildings in the woodlands, & will just lease building 2. I've Been with the company for 3 years, I was hired on when they bought Shaw. We shall see what happens once we lose Capitol services.

Flip your scenario - they will sell building two and consolidate into building one. Will lease access to building two meeting rooms as necessary.

It is common knowledge in hr that more layoffs are around the corner. People are uncertain. You can bank on some heavy hitters being sent packing.

Westchase conference rooms booked ALL DAY for "HR Meetings" on Thursday, 9/28 and Tues, 10/3. The same thing was done here in the Woodlands. Could they be expecting the same go around?

Funny, but did not hear anything about the closure of the CB&I Derby facility where 50 + Head office Staff in the UK were based plus couple of hundred on Construction sites all being made redundant plus almost everyone at the CB&I Paddington EPC offices. Shaw purchase by CB&I has been a disaster for old Shaw legacy companies plus CB&I - maybe the executives who masterminded the buy out should lose bonus's share options etc - seems a loss, loss situation and sod the executive area on the 6th floor

Technology and Equipment sale ought to free up a floor and a half.

What's the body count worldwide so far? You can guesstimate how many people need to go by averaging salary plus benefits then dividing 100 by it.

Yes there will be more layoffs, you have to be able to fit everyone in building 2. With only 70ish gone last week and at one point around 900 people in both buildings, more heads to roll.

Just think of the money they will have to spend to make the 6th floor an executive area. They can at least take a cue from innovation on converting smaller offices into big corner offices.
