Thread regarding DeVry Inc. layoffs

When will PT Adjunct/Visiting Faculty receive OFFICIAL word of Faculty Layoffs and Closing of Campusses?

As I understand, DVU students were informed via e-mail, if their campus was shutting down. This was done on Thursday & Friday. No word of it to PT Adjunct/Visiting Faculty or did I "miss it"? I'm getting questions from my students in regards to the "teach-out" plan at our campus? How are we, the professors, supposed to "help" tame the issues and answer questions, when we're left in the dark? This behavior is disgusting, not to mention, unprofessional! As always, we the professors are always the last to know. My students think the damn lawsuit settlement is the reason. I'm done making excuses and explaining DeVry's drama. This is $h!t hitting the fan and this time I'm moving out the way!!!!

"Option 3: Transfer to another college or university."

HOW? Nobody is taking my credits. Nothing transfers. Nothing. They see 'DeVry' and go 'Oh, we've decided that you need to take this, this, this and this class with us to ensure you are able to perform at our level'. I didn't even know what to say to that. Later in the car I realized that I was just told that my college classes at DeVry are deemed to be worthless crap and I just spent 2 years on nothing. So angry right now.

In April 2015, DeVry University announced the closing of 14 campuses around the United States by 2016 as part of a larger restructuring strategy. Students affected by the campus closings are eligible for discounted tuition to attend online or other campus locations for the remainder of their degree program.

3 options exist for these students:

  1. Attend another DeVry University Campus (which has not been affected) at a 20% tuition discount for the remainder of their program

  2. Enroll as an on-line student at a 20% tuition discount for the remainder of their program

  3. Transfer to another college or university
