Thread regarding Quest Software Inc. layoffs

Call me a pessimist, but I don't see how the average person's situation is improved by a return to the Gilded Age. Most will lose their jobs , homes and so called dream/s of having family etc.

ahhaha, thanks for the hint to read them, those replies are hilarious.

It's almost comical seeing HR now responding to all of the negative Glassdoor posts with canned phrases like "There is a miscategorization of cost reductions following the divestiture from Dell. " How on earth do you miscategorize laying off 15% of the company on day 1? There wasn't any thought towards the value of the people, they were just bogie targets on a spreadsheet. There's also the "we paid a bonus". This isn't because they did well but because they had a significant amount of "voluntary attrition" so layoffs weren't necessary. The money coming in (according to the CEO presentation) was terrible. The only thing that saved them was losing so many people in sales. So many that they're offering double referral bonus to anyone who can drag a sales person into the company.

Lastly, the phrase "I see a very different company than you do." is very true. As they say about management, those looking up only see a$$holes and those looking down only see crap. As the head of HR in her ivory tower, I'm sure all she sees is crap. As long as she gets her bonuses before the next sale, she'll be happy.

That makes Quest ratings on GD even worse. If they're "pumping" then the fact that the CEO has a 5% approval rating (and trending down) makes these ratings even worse. The fact is that everyone still left is either looking or waiting for the next sale to happen. Francisco Partners will not allow their billions to sit and lose money. Pump the numbers, find the next s---er (like they were and Dell before them) and get the heck out of dodge.

GD is full of sh--. I am with IBM and our ratings keep going up. As a quick reminder, we laid off 20k people last year, every day they cut even more. Benefits are being cut too, every month they cut something new.

Yet, GD ratings keep going up... I dont trust them. Check out most of tech companies that are laying off thousands, all of them have improving numbers.

HR departments figured out how to influence #s and they are doing it.

Finally, GD makes money by selling access to data/stats and offering page management to HR dpts - oh, conflict of interest, anyone???
