I was laid off last year and it was a blessing in disguise. I moved on and found a job that’s more rewarding and pays better. I think the job market for IT is good and one should be able to transition easily if you happen to be cut. I still have contacts @ BD and I am hearing there are layoffs today – anyhow, I wish you all the best.
When I joined I gto pigeonholed into a position and for years I was unable to move up.
Most of my learning was proprietary products – nobody else is using that sh--, so it’s a ton of wasted time right there. If you are ready to retire, BD is a good place to work at, if you want to learn, go and run…
Management and peers s---ed big time – there was a ton of nepotism, cliques, ethnic groupings… Backstabbing was a daily occurrence, people will openly lie to get you in trouble. Managers will pretend that they are your best friends, it’s gonna be super friendly and one day they will trip you and then stab you in the back. That’s your BD.
BEWARE OF LAYOFFS!!!
