Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Cuts are only a band-aid

Sabre can save a few million by making cuts like these and some more through the headcount reductions coming up in October.

However, the fact remains that Sabre is years behind the competition such as Amadeus and is continuing to lose market share over the years.

With no strategy in place to address the key issue of innovation and new products, I don't see us coming out of the rut we are in and have been in for the past few years

So much this, @PhAWqii-1uhc. Cuts are a temporary solution, a band-aid at best, but without deeper changes, a proper strategy, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for Sabre. And with this leadership...yeah, not likely we'll see any changes we actually need.

You got it right .

Sabre is bleeding and will bleed

We using technology that costs a lot to maintain ( Mainframe ) - compared to Amadeus who are not paying the so called Mainframe Tax on the top we have ancient windows based standalone products - where as they should have been slick and clean cloud based single interface regardless of the platform ( mobile / kiosk / etc )

It’s expensive to move to that model but competition will force or will force them out of business .
