Thread regarding Qorvo layoffs

Things need to change at Qorvo, but layoffs are not the answer

There are so many things wrong with Qorvo right now, but too many employees is certainly not one of them. Not even sure where to start. Our management is among the worst in the industry. Our process equipment is old and run down, as is the rest of our equipment. We are expected to work day and night, especially if we are full time workers. 60 hour weeks are pretty much guaranteed, with it going up to 80 hours. Pay and benefits are both under industry standards. Everybody, especially the management, is only looking out for themselves. It's not an uncommon occurrence to see good engineers get the blame for something that was neither their responsibility nor fault. I could go on and on. But instead of fixing some of this stuff, we are having layoffs again. Because that worked out so well for us before. sigh

No overtime for us at ours, that's fine cause I'm getting certified in other industries to offset that imbalance.

Seems to me they have already eliminated all of the Manufacturing Operators at the Apopka location and are running with a skeleton crew. Who are they going to layoff? Maybe they can save some money by eliminating the millions of dollars in stock they throw at the failing Executive Management team. Lol. What a shame.

Overtime restrictions don't apply to salaried folks...we're expected to put in 50-60hr/week and available 24/7 for Asia conference calls.

Qorvo doesn't allow you to go to 60 hours... It violates their customers policies. I would wonder what positions get 60 guaranteed as I'm full time and get 46 and 34...

Hourly employees are being told that they need to get Buggerwarts approval before they can work more than 50 hours

If you are full-time, it's not considered overtime. It's "your" choice to work extra for same pay.
