Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Resigned from this toxic work culture

Finally, handed in my papers last Friday. So relieved. To be honest, I am not a legacy, career Juniper guy, been here just over couple of years. Some worthless managers and directors here have worked for 8+ years, kissed the unmentionables of anyone who would not fire them but promote them and are now feeding off Juniper enriching their pockets and career. They have no where else to go. I sometimes wonder who promotes these guys and based on what. Some of these managers from non-English speaking European countries cannot even write a single sentence to customers in correct English and they have been working here for a decade or more. How do they represent the best in leadership qualities to the outside world? Internally, I have been lied to, been subject to attempted bullying , brought to management's notice and management just did not care! When I see upper management rant on about Juniper's work-culture, I find it a huge comedy. I did toy with the idea of hanging around here till October and see if I get a pay-day when the firing season starts but I figured I have sustained enough - time to be at peace again and give the proverbial finger to this disaster of a management.

Company is good, it have good policies for employees specially for females, but just due to some bad managers or directors the work culture is going bad. People dont leave company they leave managers..

Even i am going through the same, my director keeps on annoying me by putting constant criticizm, how much efforts do i put in, i am not able to meet his unrealistic expectations. Not giving any flexibility since i have return from maternity leave, no professional, personal, emotional support is there, they are treating me like a slave. I woukd not prefer any girl to join this company, this is male oriented company where the people who are sitting on higher position doesnt encourage female employess to grow career in this company.

I joined Juniper wishing I would make a long career over there, Couldn't sustain longer than couple of years in the toxic environment where in there is no scope for work life balance ! Left now, and I am more relieved than ever!

Not every group is toxic. All big companies are like that. If you choose to work in bug company then it is your choice. Don't complain and move to a small company where you can fulfill the dreams of your choice at the cost of X. Here you are wasting time at the cost of Y. X or Y it is your choice.

You are damn right. I stuck there for almost two years and also left without layoff package. Sad. Unbelievable junk company.

I was told Juniper's HR and Legal departments are frequent visitors to this site. They must be gearing up for the big slice and dice. When is it? Are they waiting for Cisco to make cuts, so they can get it done under the radar?

HR counts on voluntary attrition like this to partially achieve their workforce reduction goals, at no cost. It doesn't cost any money, when they don't have to pay for a severance package. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

These are serious charges. For every good manager, there are three worthless in juniper and they drag everybody down. How often you walk into a meeting room where there are two or three individuals engaged in a discussion while a bunch of these managers sit there surfing or making pointless comments.
