Dell bought EMC because even if the storage market is shrinking, EMC was making a larger profit on a much smaller revenue. When the legacy Dell sales people got involved, they didn't know how to sell EMC gear, and so storage revenues tanked.
Revenues were US$19.3bn, compared to $13bn a year ago; a 48.5 per cent rise, but of course EMC's results weren't included then. The GAAP net loss was $978mn; up from $262mn a year ago.
Earnings reported was Non Gaap that was reported. So what is the real number is one has to ask themselves.

Unfortunately, this awful purchase of EMC resembles more and more that unfortunate purchase of DEC by COMPAQ 20 years ago. Now both are old history.. Mike Dell has something in mind but it is not the well being of his subordinates.

Layoffs in BDC storage Bangalore is confirmed. The director of BDC storage was laid off two days ago. Many more useless people in BDC storage including the two super techies who know no technology.
