Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Safety, Integrity, Resect, my a**

So, we’ve just learned that, for three years, Al withheld information from the State of Michigan about damage to the protective coating on Line 5, which runs under the Straits of Mackinaw, which connects Lake Michigan to Lake Huron.

These are two of the Great Lakes we’re talking about. The lakes that contain something like one-fifth of the world’s fresh water. And Al sees fit not to report damage to a pipeline running under the water body that connects two of them?

What would Pat Daniel think?

Safety, Integrity and Respect? Those are long gone. Now Enbridge stands for Lies, Corruption and Abuse.

You guys are stupid. Lots oflines have coating issues. The line is 1" thick, has coating, is cathodically protected and runs at 20% of its design pressure. Its fine.

Just as BN compensates for his stature through his boorishness, all of ENB’s ELT members compensate for their poor leadership skills through the bandaid solutions they have been implementing over the last two years.

It is damn easy to lay off employees and to downgrade the salaries, benefits, pensions and titles of those who remain (excluding certain friends).

It is much more difficult to build and run a business in a way that honors employees, communities and the environment. ENB’s so-called “leaders” have proven they are not fit for the job.

It is painful for me to watch them flounder, and to watch this once great company crumble. History will not be kind to this group.

Ha! BN. Enbridge’s own little tiny Napoleon, with the same complexes.

Someone should get that little twerp who heads up Shared Services on some heavy medication. Preferably sedatives. That might help Enbridge’s current leadership crisis.

Pretty sure he’s heavily medicated already (comes across that way, anyway) if that’s what you mean by help. But, the guy clearly needs whatever help he can get his hands on.

Al is a hardened bully who doesn’t think he has a problem, but here’s hoping.

I hope Al gets the help he needs. Let’s end this implosion and return to health!

He’s a good person at heart but the job has gone to his head. He needs to surround himself with people who are more enlightened than he, so they can guide him. I hope he gets the help he needs.

Poor Al. Maybe he should go back to accounting where he wouldn’t have to think outside the box much. That would be better.

Al thinks he know best for everyone, but he is reckless and careless, with safety, with the environment, with water, with employees and with people’s lives.

All he cares about is himself and Enbridge’s stock price, which is tanking.

It would be nice to see someone with broader views at the helm.

Agree. Also, Al has beefed up Enbridge’s culture of secrecy , so everyone is on a need to know basis.

It’s amazing what can be covered up when you keep people uninformed.

ELT held onto their Line 5 secret for three years. I’m sure they have secrets about Line 10 as well. Another tragedy in waiting.

Safety, Integrity and Respect has ALWAYS given way to MONEY$$$$$$. Its just they are a little less interested in covering their tracks.

Some employees (mostly men, but a few women) do extremely well under Al’s aggressive leadership style. Most, though, are intimidated into submission. I suspect that was the case for the employees who first alerted ELT of the damage to Line 5.

If this is the kind of thing Al is withholding from the regulators, just imagine what he is withholding from employees

Wonder what happened to the person who internally reported the damage to Line 5. Demoted? Fired? Laid off?

It’s beginning to feel as though Enbridge is being run by the Mafia. You see someone disagree with a higher-up, and you know they’ve got a hit on their head. Because, in a few months, they’re gone, and no one ever speaks their name again.

You want to stay employed at Enbridge? Keep your mouth shut, particularly if you’re a woman.
