San Ramon started quiet lay-off in 2016 but saw it coming in early 2015 when operations couldn’t support the apps offered to other GE businesses. Management team was the worst in Silicon Valley. It was full of old-Cisco burnouts who are still pulling down over $150k/year salaries completely screwing over shareholders & customers. No customers should ever trust any industrial IOT solutions from GE.
Thank you for that explanation! Now it makes sense.
@PWWo9kB-3mtw - Roanoke is headquarters of Meredium, the company that GE Digital acquired about a year ago for its APM product line. The acquisition really is a reverse acquisition wherein folks working in old GE (San Ramon) are being replaced by the folks from Meredium. This is in the APM Application side. If you are in IT DT or Coretech you may not know much about this, which is probably why you are puzzled.
What is the Roanoke obsession I’ve seen? Do you mean the ISTC? That’s richmond... or did something new open post VJRP that somehow I’ve been oblivious too even with all my still GE friends? I think someone doesn’t know wtf they are talking about
Edmonton, NOLA, Detroit, Albany, Lisle, San Ramon - major cuts. Growth will be in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Roanoke. Consistent with the cost cutting measures.
@PWWo9kB-1stg: smart. I wouldn’t trust anything he says either... remember the all hands a couple years ago where he said something like “for the avoidance of doubt, remote workers are okay, it’s just for net new jobs” and then a year later said remote workers would have to move if they wanted a job change or promotion? lol
All of them!!!
You wish
Anybody want to guess how many EBs on up will get cut in the blood bath? Zero?
People already started getting laid-off in San Ramon office?
He just said there's no layoff plan in a all hands two weeks ago. I ain't trust him though.
Drumgoole's org. I am OP.
Not just Predix platform. APM in San Ramon will also have good amount of cuts. Majority of APM will remain in Roanoke and India. We all know that with the Meredium Aquisition they are running the show and irrespective of competence anyone from Roanoke is considered better. I hear there will be no cuts there and in fact all promotions will go there. Wonderful ain’t it.
Heard from a friend. Deep cuts planned for first week of November is what I heard. Heard no group will be spared. Hear that Predix Platform will also take a grave blow. San Ramon is going to have a blood bath.
Disclaimer - I do not work at GE was planning on applying for a job which is when I got the details as caution.
Which office is this? And which group? Would there be another line of layoffs?
Where are you located? And which group within GED?
