I was WFR'd this past June, and am now in a dispute with my state's employment office re whether taking my EDS pension reduces my unemployment insurance amount. It has to do with who the "base year" (year you were laid off) employer was. They say it was Enterprise Services paying both my wages and into the unemployment fund, and they were maintaining the EDS Pension fund. I thought there was no more Enterprise Services, that we became DXC in April. Has anyone had this happen or have any information that might be helpful?

Yes, good post PVzi6bZ-1ben !!!
None of us get to set the rules, as individuals. To expect us to pay and pay and pay into the system, and then to NOT collect (in order for us to stay consistent to our political beliefs, if we think that the whole system is too socialistic, or what have you), is to expect entirely too much!
In the Soviet Union, many workers had to steal from their workplaces, just to make ends meet, at many times and places. I am glad we are not yet at that point of social / governmental decay... But we do have to do what we have to do, so that Meggot and Minions (and their entire social strata) do not cause us to starve to death.
1vkp, your not being much of a "sport", it's OK to collect all the chips you can. To get to the original post, every state is different. In my state, your retirement income, (pension payments, IRA distributions, 401k distributions, any "qualified plan") does NOT change your unemployment benefits. From what I've come to understand, this is unusual. So, since my WFR I've been collecting, severance, IRA distributions, 401k distributions, and full unemployment. Only problems in life are taxes take a good chunk as all those sources are taxable. Your WFR letter is proof that you left involuntary, that's all you need for unemployment. As for what employer was, my state takes the last full four quarters into consideration. In your case HPE / ES / DXC created a mess, but after considerable digging it will get figured out. Also in my state, once you have had a sustained income of about $53,000 a year, you "max out", i.e. you unemployment benefits will not pay a higher amount.
Now back to that nasty comment "gaming the system", what the hell do you think the majority of HPE employees are doing today? So, come on be a "sport". BTW, I'm also collecting medical benefits via the 2003 plan. So there, be happy and collect your chips. Good Luck to All?
Who the f**k cares! Why don't you go find Ross Perot and ask him?!!
Why are you collecting unemployment if you are receiving an income via a pension? I'd cut your benefits too. Quit trying to game the system. Unemployment is to help fill a gap between jobs; if you are retired, then quit collecting.
Might be more helpful to visit http://www.hpalumni.org and pose your questions to the people on that listserve.
