Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Layoffs - HPE yesterday October 23, 2017

Yet another bloodbath here at HPE yesterday October 23, 2017. I’m a “lucky” one. No WFR. Yet.

On the Storage side, apparently it is Nimble mgmt to the rescue.

The new kids on the block will fix all the problems and processes. Legacy HP(E) and you are out... reminds me of when Compaq bought HP with HP’s money and then along came 3PAR.

Good luck boys from Nimble...

Hope you guys got some sweet stock in the acquisition, and it’s still worth something in about 9 months, because you’ll be dying, DYING, to get the heck out of HPE next...

HPE Complete engineering team in Colorado is entirely gone as is most of the StoreVirtual 3200 team. The HPE Complete team worked with complimentary HPE partners to certify their products and place them on the HPE price list (Veeam, Zerto, Qumulo, Hedvig, Cohesity etc).

"reminds me of when Compaq bought HP with HP’s money and then along came 3PAR."

Actually, HP bought Compaq. Compaq bought Tandem and Digital Equipment and a few years later merged with HP.

Buying other companies only works when the cultures of the employees match. The way it works at HP/HPE is that if you are the product of a merger, you will always be treated like a second class citizen not by the company, but by your peers. Which is much worse.

No more acquisitions, just chop and sell.
