Thread regarding AFLAC layoffs

Bias Runs Deep

It is that time of year where leadership rewards the sheep, and punishes those who do not blindly pucker up and kneel. Point blank, it is nothing less than systematic oppression that will dictate not only the year end bonus, but also your merit. If you are liked, you are rewarded, regardless of your body of work. Defined clearly as a Power play. If Aflac allowed employees to review their leaders in the same regard, it would paint a clear picture. However, and I will state this as fact: Complain to HR about questionable leadership, YOU will be investigated and looked at as an issue.

Ethics, morales, and integrity seem to elude this company.

I can attest to everything stated here. I've had 3 managers during this last appraisal period. Just got my performance appraisal and received my objectives at the same time I was evaluated on them. Was given bad grades and feedback on things that have never been mentioned to me prior to the appraisal. Worst leadership I have ever encountered. Words cannot describe the things I see here daily.

Been here 9 years, with the common reorg that they constantly do, I've had 8 different managers. Each one does appraisals differently. No commonality whatsoever. What one defines as meeting expectation, another can view it as exceeding. What's the difference? Easy answer, PERSONAL BIAS.

Aflac has deteriorated over the past few years. More promotions to those who suppress and finger-wag, while great workers either become disenchanted, or leave. Thankfully, I've been able to secure a new path that start in January. The way the BIAS and questionable reorgs are going, most should be finding an exit fast. Skim and read over my words, but the BOTTON LINE is the only thing they're focused on, not you, not your family, only fake awards and keeping incentives going for a dying sales force.

Don't say you were not told... Aflac is no longer a family oriented company. YOU are overhead, and can be "at willed" for anything. Displacements coming. Be prepared. Holidays will be great this year!

Protected is a key term here. They can do no wrong, other than lie, manipulate, scapegoat, and slander. Which is the new Aflac Way.

Yes it truly does... a boss decides he doesn’t like a person anymore for whatever reason - including refusing to be a scapegoat for that boss’s mistakes!! - and the employee is then punished with a terrible review with absolutely NO justification or facts to back it up. Sad what a state the culture in this company is coming to, with leadership being protected at all costs.
