Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Juniper to be sold?

Maybe there is something behind the suspicion that Juniper's getting ready to sell themselves. They clearly cannot take the quarterly Wall St. pressure any more. Product line is more on power points than reality.

Many seriously good people have either left in recent times or have been let go, keeping only the PALs (Personal A$$ Lickers) of upper management.

Now the erosion of inside sales points to getting rid of a major sales outfit. Pradeep the founder-member CTO is gone to have fun with Fungible. Jonathan has gone back to Cisco. Denise Schiffmann fired without a whimper.

Brocade's boss hired who fired Brocade into oblivion till they were sold off in bits and pieces. This may mean either going private and sort out serious issues with product life cycle management and GTM strategy and/or get to hedge funds under pressure from Elliott Mgmt board members and sale it in bits and pieces - which BTW, means way more brutal firing next round up.

“Juniper is really good at keeping secrets”, you say?

The reality is we have nothing to talk about.

No one cares about cooked up lies.

No one cares about the fake-tech that comes out of Juniper.

No one cares about the future of a dead company.

Well, just a few pi$$ed off investors and employees (who will have to leave soon) do care.

No one else does,

If Google was to acquire Juniper, it would be for the land.

@PUXyQSX-2zrxx, speaking of secrets, jnpr is really good at keeping news and rumors secret. I wouldn’t be surprised one day to walk in only to be jnpr has been quietly swallowed by another company.

Who knows, neighboring gogle is after the land that jnpr is sitting on.

With a large portion of sales and professional services affected on the layoff last week, it is likely that Juniper is working of a secret merger. It is highly unlikely Juniper will get sold in bits and pieces like Brocade. It is also unlikely that a company like Arista, Extreme, Cisco will pickup Juniper. It is more likely however that a Chinese company or Nokia will go for it, or a service heavy HP or even IBM has a long shot.

@PUXyQSX-1nui "Who in the hell would want to buy jnpr ?"- I would say if it were possible then Chinese would buy it. Believe me, they want badly the USA market of networking and telecom.

There is always a buyer, even for scarp metal. They may just sell themselves in bits and pieces like Brocade, starting with a mega-loss making security sector.
