I can understand the need for layoffs from time to time. It's never a good thing, and I believe every company should do everything in their power to avoid them, but the fact remains that they will take place from time to time. What is really making me angry is the way this was handled. The workers who were let go were thrown under the buss to preserve the image of Tesla. God forbid somebody thinks some cost savings were needed. No, let's malign hardworking folks by claiming their performances were not good enough for our standards. Sh--ty way to handle this, Tesla, real sh--ty. /rant over

over a thousand let go today from the solar division. many of them top performers and long time employees. no notice given and demands for performance reviews refused.
I just ordered a Model S, over 100K. I'm thinking about cancelling my order now.
Company census has increased almost net within the same week. Headcount growth continues and will through 2017. Automotive peers let go of more than the meager 3% Tesla did. Complete fake news.
If you got let go, welcome to the bottom 3%. The herd will now move faster.
These were cost cutting terminations. There were more people terminated yesterday. Tesla is claiming performance issues to dupe the public and stock holders.
„Hardworking“ and „good performance“ are not the same thing.
These were not performance related. This is another case of Tesla being dishonest over the way they do business.
This is same thing they did to the power train people a few years ago instead of a layoff
I agree 100%.
