Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

FMC Layoffs 2018

I spent last 10 years with our company and it'd be a real shame if they were to decide to lay people off from our offices in Houston.

What makes you question his citizenship and why should his citizenship matter? These are tough times and no department is immune to layoffs. I'm sorry you got laid off and hope you received a fair package that took into account your long service. I wish you the best going forward.

Try 30 years! Still had tons of work to do but let go because of some idiot in HR be it Houston or Erie.

HR is where they should start next, talk about worthless protected positions.

They could consider some of the big guns and salaries like Arturo. Is that man even a citizen of the US?

Three IT personnel (legacy Technip) let go on Monday 12/4/17. Three weeks ago two legacy FMC managers both with many years with the company were walked out on the same day and one legacy Technip lead engineer. At this point NO ONE is exempt!

Take your personal stuff home and hope they don't call you but be prepared anyway!

Sorry bub, but there has been people in the company that has either worked longer than you and/or more experienced that has been laid off for less. Better to brush up your resume/interview skills in the case you are laid off. Here a hint, apply to other companies now. You have better leverage for negotiation salaries. Once your are laid off, you dont have leverage anymore and will be in desperation mode. Hiring managers know this. Oh, and once you are laid off, good luck competing against all those who were laid off with you, younger than you, and willing to work for way less than you.

Sincerely,

-Previously employeed FMC Employee

Lay offs are already set.

Many people know and are set to reap rewards for staying until the time is up in February
