Monsanto Layoffs 2018

If I tell you that I am concerned you'll laugh - but how can you ignore so many warning signs here in St. Louis.

cant believe the mo--ns that posted above. None of that is true.....job cuts are pretty modest and they are way off base on severance and lay off practices. Sounds like more like a couple of id--ts that got fired for incompetence.

Recently required to complete a I-9 form due to merger but not everyone getting this. Does this mean those requiring to complete a I-9 form will keep their jobs or be losing them?

As someone that did mergers and acquisitions here’s what happens. Acquirer does financial analysis when determining a fit. X dollars will be bid to acquire and is often 30% to 50% and more of current stock price. Stock watchers then look for synergies ie cost cutting to justify price.

Simple. That’s now what’s happening. Human Resources will be cut as will financial jobs, IT will be consolidated etc. get ready and remember the borg.

I couldn't agree more. If you work for Monsanto and believe that you are safe, I want to know what color the sky is in your world? What are you smoking, taking, or injecting? Thousands of people are going to be dumped into the labor market all at once in the St. Louis MSA. This is going to force down wages and create too much competition for a few jobs. You will be lucky to get a temporary position. You have about 2 weeks to find a job or you need to pick a new market to live in or accept unemployment. Keep in mind that Bayer doesn't care about you, doesn't care about your family, and is only interested in maximizing the profits they take to Germany.

You are spot on. Bayer has made it very clear that they do not want a mini-corporate office in St. Louis. Bayer's CEO is under great pressure to save the promised $1.5 billions over 3 years. Most all of that savings is going to come from layoffs. If the average person makes about $100,000.00 with benefits that would mean they make $300,000.00 over 3 years. If we take $1.5 billion and divide it by $300.000.00 it is easy to discern that 5,000 jobs will be eliminated. They will be eliminated quickly and Bayer will use dirty tricks to avoid paying severance. They will offer a Monsanto employee a low paying job in an area they don't want to live. When the employee refuses the offer, they will simply say you quit and will not pay severance. They have a history of this behavior when they take over a company.

In order for Bayer to save 1.5 million over the net 3 years, they will layoff thousands of employees. This will begin shortly after Bayer acquires the company. The cuts will be quick and deep.
