I never thought that I'll be surprised here again, but layoffs in corporate are always a juicy topic. Have you heard that we may have layoffs in Pittsburgh.

PPG Top Corp Management has already made it clear.......... Sales are declining, materials operating costs up and a growing cancer eating away>>>>> Pension Liability is a big big debt cost as all the baby bommers are retiring daily getting out!
PPG has created a strong alliance with China Mexico and other overseas markets shifting R&D labs technology IP to reduce operating costs ........... Shame on PPG Mgt!!! Next Corp. long term move leave US .......... eliminate growing cancer pension liability !!!!! Shame shame on PPG selling out the once strong ethical US company....... Shame
IF you need paint, go to Sherwin Williams.
To hell with ppg
PPG coatings buying up lots of small companies and destroying them and closing them. Dear God if you see this please bankrupt and destroy them.
So....we close stores. We cut top people out in the field and now senior management is asking "what's going on out there with sales? Why are we down 2 months in a row?" Seriously sh-- heads! You toasted a big piece of your sales team over the past several months, what did you think would happen? Look in the mirror. Better yet, look in the classifieds and get the hell out of here.
Just laid off 12 people here in techniqual side in Cleveland said it's suppose to come out into the plant
They just laid off senior tech people in Cleveland today 30 plus years just eliminated their jobs clueless management at its best !!!!!
They laid off over 1,100 employees... I just left the company recently... Texas carried the rest of the markets but even in texas they can't put a dent in sw... ppg corporate doesn't listen to us reps in the field... It's going to be their downfall.. Also having one employee or two at a store is insane and bad business. The problem is your direct report is always trying to save his a-- and when corporate says make your sales team do paperwork instead of selling paint.. unfortunately your boss listens.
They already lost all their top performers. Gut the heinz folk and bring back the talent :)
The real problem is that PPG senior leadership has no field experience. They don't know what goes on nor do they care what goes on at the customer level. They will protect their wallets and their bonuses at the expense of any one else in the business. This will be ugly folks.
AC is a sinking ship. Competition is crushing them. What does the future hold for them? Current business model is not sustainable!
Good old ppg. They lose a customer and first thing they do is lay off a ton of people. Sad. Don’t really see it getting any better either. Those people who got out already are the smart ones. Not the best place to grow your career anymore
I wonder if the Springdale Plant will be included in these layoffs.
It begins...
After losing the lowe,s business, and also the restructure plan, what will happen to certain manufacturing plants!!!!!
Dose any body know will ppg restructuring, plan will affect any manufacturing plants,or the lose of the lowes accounts. ..
Yes the Olympic team in Lowes they are all getting laid off, their last day will be March 9th all Territory Managers and Regional Managers will be gone above that I’m not sure who kept their job.
Has anyone heard any news for the Olympic team?
Specific BU or all?
Have heard rumblings since the end of last year, but wouldn't be surprised now given recent "news"...

I heard it's going down soon, start polishing up your resumes.
Layoffs started last Wednesday as part of the restructuring
No cuts. No layoffs.
