You'll be told several times every year that your position may be eliminated, but then they will change their mind and they will reverse the decision. I know some people who were given a written notice only to find out that Flextronics is changing the position and that they can stay if they want.
Find me one company that does this aside from Flextronics - not sure what to tell you. But let's see what 2018 brings for all of us - there will be cuts for sure
