Heard from someone laid off that there were 1,000 laid off worldwide. Apparently small numbers in most places do not to attract news media. Seems to have been a lot of senior I.e. Gray hairs to lower costs.

Approximately 4,200 people were laid off. Combined number all Lenovo divisions and companies. That's over 10% of the Lenovo workforce.
They target certain people and types of people, ages, salary levels, bands. They plan ahead; some managers give a bad or somewhat bad performance review to targeted employees, even if their performance was not bad. This is a trick Lenovo uses to get rid of people in the next resource action who might otherwise have cause to sue. Lenovo thinks no one knows they do this but employees talk and compare notes.
So if they colored their hair would they be spared? Seems discriminatory to me.
Oh that is terrible news always to hear that a business targets older workers, who are more productive than millennials.
