Miami Jewish Health Systems has terminated a contract with Crothall Healthcare and posted layoffs for 72 people at the facility.
The company taking over the contract is expected to rehire the 60 housekeepers, six floor technicians, two lead housekeepers, two administrative assistants, one operations manager and one unit director mentioned listed in a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Act (WARN) Notice filed with the state.
The hospital at 5200 N.E. 2nd Ave. in Miami notified Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Crothall will be awarding its housekeeping contract to a competitor by close-of-business on Nov. 30, according a spokesperson for Crothall.
