Layoffs will continue. The consolidation of groups is just ridiculous! The Chicagoland should have closed centers (O'Hare, Elgin, Gurnee and Merrilliville). Chicagoland has centers close to the campuses where the students can travel to the campuses for class. Many of these other groups should have closed more centers. No, but they go ahead and spend $$ to move Gurnee. Waste of $$$. Some of these centers have no classes in sessions and colleagues are sent to these locations and do nothing. No leadership at the campus/centers. Campus/Center Deans are out getting PD's and there is no leadership. Devry is going down!! Never should have gone away with technology years ago and should have invested in technology instead of trying to add colleges. EVERYONE is looking to get out. All DeVry is ...It's still the Titanic...but our seats have just changed. Get out as soon as you can!

i think there are few on Devry payroll who could fit that description. There a few, I came across, whose ability to compartmentalize might be on par with characters out of the Godfather movies. These guys have no qualms about what their decisions have done to the students and to the lower level "student facing" staff.
he's in a tough spot...a complete creation of the system. If the system collapses, he has no place to go. And, as the system collapses, people like him are going to have to ask themselves, 'what's my exit strategy'? If it collapses on his watch, he's going to have to explain what he did and didn't do. That could be a career killer. By the same token, those taking direction from him and others like him must surely realize by now that as the company contracts, so does their power. They have no carrots, and they have no sticks...other than issuing bad performance ratings or recommending dismissal. At this point, both have been so overworked that they're irrelevant.
if that's the same TZ - he has become chicago group's academic chief. what's the deal with him?
As long as TZ is in charge, we'll see more of the same.
