The University of Texas at Austin is laying staff off as a result of budget cuts that have been imposed on it. A reorganization of most of the nonacademic units seems to be affecting administrative/clerical positions in the nonacademic umbra. It may be just a matter of time before the entire University experiences similar cuts but this has yet to be confirmed.
