Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Wage adjustmenst

Heard if you are high I your band you are getting pay cut. What was the pint of putting a top performer there if they are going to get cut now. We all the same? Regardless of job role? Regardless of efforts and results? Insanity now.

I'm long gone first chance i get- I'm watching performers and talent leave on their terms, not walked out.

Consensus with current employees=The magic is gone at Enbridge.

I've seen this repeated over and over. Poorly devised, Cyclical cost initiatives driving out talent until they're all somewhere else giving 110%. Sharing amusing stories and observations of how far the company has slid.

The old boys are covering. Trust me I'm one of them. Once that erodes it's just a series of missteps, turnover and mediocre talent. When 1 person's coattails keep 10 others credibility afloat because they can't hack it on their own, we're bound for trouble

It's perplexing to watch this organization eat itself.

She still doesn't have a real job and cut should start from the top!!

She’s just doing what she’s been told to do and serving as a convenient fall guy for the men in charge. A way to take advantage of thinly veiled misogyny and direct employee anger toward a woman. The cute slogans only fuel the anger. Hard to watch.

Guess what else Karen and AM are doing to get every penny out of the employees. No more company cell phone. Yes you still have to give your personal number to your boss

When all has been said and done, it will be fascinating to read the MBA case studies about how two solid companies (Spectra and Enbridge) were ruined over the course of a decade as a result of stunning mismanagement, shortsightedness and arrogance. The part about the RDO’s role in the company’s demise will be particularly interesting, given all the cute slogans (WE=) and Orwellian euphemisms (Enbridge “family”) that group uses.

anyone who thinks profit means security has no understanding of the current atmosphere OR the intelligence to comprehend even the most basic events of the last year. There's been no lack of profit but there has been an exodus of good employees.

Heard the same collective effort/collective reward speech from GE during the drive to 35. We gave the effort, he got the reward.

Remind us, please. Who is spreading negative vibes? Is it the employees? Or is it Enbridge’s leadership and RDO?

Hey guys instead of spreading negative vibes let's band together and channel that energy into a collective effort to make this company the most successful ever. We are all part of the Enbridge family and if we make the company a ton of profit then there is no need to cut people, salary, benefits etc and we all win. Remember, WE= Amazing Together

When Enbridge has another Marshall-scale spill, will employees put their lives on hold the way they did in 2010? Why would they do that for a company that treats them like overhead. It will be interesting to see.

Not for the execs that walked away with tens of millions in their pockets while so many others walked to the unemployment line.

Spectra was better off without enbridge. Wat a stupid decision to merge both companies

Thank goodness most of Enbridge’s senior leaders have taken executive training at Harvard, and that they have Bain guiding their every move through the RDO, which clearly has everyone’s best interests at heart. Obviously, the only way to save Enbridge from the poorly conceived Spectra acquisition is to lay off the deadweight employees, and to decrease the pay, benefits, pension and holidays of the badly spoiled sods who remain. That’s the only way, as everyone knows that reducing the pay of the company’s senior leaders, or firing them for getting the company into its current predicament, would be ridiculous.

Without that training and Bain’s wisdom, I fear the company would be completely in the toilet.

You do all realize that giving up 8 paid days is the same as giving up about 3% of your pay, don’t you.

Does anyone know what RDO actually do for the company? Other than wasting money! AM wants synergies? That team needs to be dealt with first before the salary cut to those that work so hard for the company. Let's be real here!!

If what i’m reading here is true, I’m surprised that people at the director level will be affected, as, up until now, it seems that most (although not all) of them have been spared any unpleasantness.

But I guess Enbridge’s senior leaders need to do whatever they need to do after severely overextending the company on the Spectra deal and badly miscalculating operational “synergy” savings, leading them to cut more employees than expected (although i’m certain that Al and the RDO could convincingly argue that those employees didn’t do anything of value anyway).

So it’s important that we all do our part to reduce the company’s overhead costs by graciously accepting whatever pay cuts are imminent. Investors and the RDO will certainly be pleased.

And, when you think about it, we really can’t really blame the senior leaders for wanting to secure their own financial futures, can we? So let’s admire them for their exemplary leadership qualities and give them a break.

Cut is coming! It's for everyone below the VP level. And it will save the company a lot money.

Trust pay cuts (if any) will be matched with reducing to 7 - 7.5hr workday. Then, maybe, work/life balance could become more of a reality.

Human Resources already stated there will be "no 5-ratings". Spectra employees told not to expect raises as Spectra employees are "overpaid" compared to their Enbridge counterparts.

Pourquoi le faisons-nous?
