Thread regarding CVS layoffs

All i kniw is that niw cvs is shutting down sgt bluff too come april 14th!

CVS doesn't care if they look bad it is their bottom line that they care about, CVS needed to hold onto the emploees because of so many being out of work. I was on the chopping table last November so maybe November is the month 2017. Good luck to you and colleagues.

My thought is that you have a very positive outlook.

My second thought is that you have not applied anywhere and have not updated your resume. That worries me. Because the layoff is DEFINITELY going to happen next week. I heard from someone high up in corporate. Someone who said this whole time that they didn't know what was going to happen. Then they tell me two days ago that this is definite. That's too much proof for me.

Also, the "loyal" ones stay around? More like desperate ones. Anyone who has stayed has not found a real job. If you can stay and think that this is the LP department for you then you will not get far in this profession because your judgement is way off.

Stop being so paranoid about everything. If you think about it, it is a genious idea. A harsh incident happens, the company wants to lay low and not say anything. The action creates a reaction that makes people nervous about their jobs so the weak and newbies scape to another job fleeing uncertainty; this action thus creates various positive things for the company which is:

1) the loyal ones stay

2) they get rid of the excess ones without laying them off

3) Payroll is saved

4) News about the incident that created this issue dissipate

I think that the company realizes that it needs a loss prevention market investigator department because, without it, they would sink in shrink once the thieves find out there is NO ONE there to stop them. The ones that remained will be re-trained possibly in a more exclussive manner and continue to do a better job. I don't see a layoff coming, I see a reformation of the department to where various levels of management are created to ensure this type of events do not happen again. Thoughts?

You basically echoed my point. The powers that be hadn't hinted or seem to want to let us know whatever way they are leaning... therefore someone who may actually be putting out information or false information leaves you back at square one doesnt it? You know just as much as you did before you started reading these posts. In the end, get your resume out there and strive to do better than running up on shop lifters that you can't do anything to in the first place.

You most definitely don't speak for everyone. I sincerely appreciate this update since the powers that be see it fitting not to indicate to us anything about our future in this position. It may be BS but at least it's something.
