Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Do Something Good Lee

You have made tens of millions. Even young athletes, half your age recognize their blessings and donate to the recovery effort, and announce it publicly. We challenge you to do the same. As a fact, you never served in the US military and, other than take home a fat salary with huge bonuses, have done nothing for the city or country. You have engineered the largest mass layoff in the history of the company. Try to do something good that extends yourself, sir.

Don’t you realize that Lee has no real incentive to take money from his pocket and donate it to MRO employees whose homes and/or cars were flooded as a result of Harvey, much less to anyone else in the Greater Houston community who was equally impacted. Besides, the company very publicly donated $100K to the relief effort during a local television station’s coverage of the hurricane aftermath. Better MRO than Lee, don’t cha know! Also, I guess you didn’t get the memo! Lee is not the master planner of the MRO layoffs. Blue Jeans is the one providing “guidance” to Lee on this matter. Please don't miss the point. This is a chance for LEE TO DONATE LEE's money, not just Marathon's. Come on, LEE, WILL YOU OR WILL YOU NOT STEP UP AND GIVE JUST $1 Million?

While we're at it, Clarence Cazalot engineered the breakup of the company to greedily put $47+ Million in HIS pocket. How about YOU, Clarence, why don't you give something back other than to Joel, who closed the doors on refugees until he was shamed into taking a few in. Like Lee, Clarence was never in the military and could really use this opportunity to give something back.

Lee is too busy planning the next layoff to do something good. The red cross donation check is just for show on TV. Pay attention to how employees are treated during this natural disaster and you will see what kind of company Lee has turned MRO into.
