these guys are complete jokers and have no clue of the data center business. splunk founders spent 2 years engaging IT guys to understand their problems. we only engage fellow intel employees in conference rooms with our world class PowerPoints.

It's Rack Scale Design, NOT Rack Scale Direct. Look it up.

And yes, Motley Fool's AE finally stuck a fork in his credibility by suggesting (hoping) DB would return to replace SS. DB wasn't all that visionary, but she at least understands that gracefully and quietly leaving was a blessing in disguise.

Of course, I've been wrong about some of these knuckleheads before.

Agree on JW. Continues long tradition of intel execs (DB, BK, ...) who seduce the street to confuse right place right time with their own brilliance and insight. Motley fool guy (ae ), your faith in DB and hope she replaces SS are very naive.

Anyhow, op - what is the "direct" part of rack scale?.

The rack scale aka drama scale architecture - no. 1 customer was DB. Looks like BK is still buying into the JW soap opera.

I left Intel a year ago, but I witnessed the kind of idiots that work in rack design. A rack was designed for a major costumer just to present a mechanical failure once they sent the prototype.
