Thread regarding University of Washington layoffs

More layoffs in January

People who were pulled from other departments to work on the workday transition were laid off even though they were told they would be sent back to their original departments. CO-Motion laid off 9 people. My department is currently restructuring. When layoffs happen, it will be in January. Still very hush hush about it. Most of it though isn't laying off people. It's not replacing people who leave and dividing up the work between the remaining people. The department next to us had 7 people leave in the last year and weren't approved to get any replacements for them. Workload redistributed.

Bumped from an older thread for new info. OP is @Ovfg1NQ-ygps.

How ironic that my original post has been deleted from this site. So much for free speech and spreading the word about UW's unethical hiring practices and behaviors. They don't reward hard work or loyalty, at least not in the department I worked for over 20 years. These people are unscrupulous and don't give a sh-- about the people that work so hard to contribute to the great educational experience for students. That's why we're there, right? The higher echelon is the worst! Think twice before signing on with UW. They'll eat you alive then show you door!
