Thread regarding Bridgepoint Education Inc. layoffs

How much longer do you think Bridgepoint will survive???

  • Executive voluntary departure

  • Continued layoffs

  • Financial issues

  • Departing shareholders (Warburg)

  • VA funding issues

  • Increasing competition

What's your estimate on how much longer this company will be around?

It could be a very long time. The VA funding is huge. And so is the support from Warburg. At this point, BPI does have a backer in DC, Robert Eitel.

It will only be a matter of weeks/months. The company is hemorrhaging cash (pace of $150M/semester). We're talking a 6 month cash loss equivalent to over half its market cap. Andrew Clark and management only care about the personal $ and gratification (check out how he's selling his stock before the ship sinks).
