Ongoing layoffs occurring this week. Re-organization occurring again.

They are failing because NCR management is still in place. And don't forget the investment managers that demand a return on their stock. The only way you can improve the bottom line when you have an over priced out dated platform is to fire humans.
you are talking about heritage and pride, well guess what it doesn't exist anymore. The guys who got us here are still in charge and continue to hide behind BAIN so that they all can keep their jobs. When the balance sheet doesn't look cut people who question the reorg plan or cut older workforce who sacrificed a lot for the company all these years. No sense to honesty, so sense to loyalty and no sense of sensitivity to older workforce who are without healthcare or life insurance. One fine morning just give them message that it is their last day. I hope others who are still on the payroll learn from the lessons and look for jobs outside. This company treats it's employees in the most horrible way and the leadership lacks courage and moral values. Based on the posts that I read it is a clear case of age discrimination and wage discrimination
Ah, but they have time to create a video for a 10 year party! Seems to me that the company was incorporated in 1979 and has been bought and spun off a few times - but to say it is ten years old--that reeks of marketing holdovers from NCR days. No pride in the product, the history, the heritage...all gone.
There was a list of who they are going to let go?
The package given by Teradata is a joke... Hope few of the laid off employees get together and go after them... When you look carefully at the list they have gone after people who are older and have been with them longer.. I wish VL had gone after the useless management folks who have done nothing just cut people every six months..
I just got laid off or Fired, Teradata calls it Separation. The Separation package I was given was a complete and total insult.........I hope this sinking ship goes down...
Teradata management has picked up lessons learned from Survivor and Big Brother shows. They keep voting out the strongest players..
Even Existing employees are worried about the future of the company and their job security.
It should be noted that high-trust companies outperform low-trust companies by a whopping 276 percent.
Where this company is going on the Trust Matrix?
I agree with the last post. They let go good people and kept some of the worst performers just because they are close to their so called managers. This company has so many VP's if they had fired all of them the company would do better. Hope all the laid off employees get together and take action.
Good talent are being told that "your position is no longer needed". No severance package. Terminated!
Last info I got (9/5) was 309 people let go. I should say fired.
the whole China R&D was wiped out last thursday, the network was cut off right after the announcement.
Management doesn't care for quality, usability, scalability, efficiency. I don't think they even understand these words or how to plan for these. There are letting go some good people just because managers don't like them. God bless.
How about firing the entire management of Teradata for saving costs. I don't think we need them.. anyway all they do is roll up the spreadsheets and take credit for all the hard work of folks who are out in the field. This company should be sued by all the guys who are being fired. They are big on offshore and replacing the US based workforce with folks from India. I hope Trump comes to know of this and then he can give Teradata CEO a call. That should teach him a lesson.
If you need a win capital to come in with their new college hires to tell you how to run your company, then the leadership needs to be replaced. I bet those college kids from Bain would do it for 1/10th of their salary. How about starting with cost cuts at the top?
The company is run by management who have no clue on how to change with the changing times. Never came up with strategies to be in Cloud or to acquire good company. We bought Claraview which was a disaster.. then the "think Big" which was over priced for a small company with 8M in revenue. Teradata management then pissed off 900M worth of acquisitions which were worthless. Now all we do is churn out powerpoints and get rid of resources who sell and work and are old. Guess what this company won't survive in 5 years. Look at the management not one guy has management skills nor technical skills. What do you expect from a company which is a technology company run by disastrous non technical folks. The only game they know is hide behind BAIN and keep letting go of good resources.
It is rumored that if you are a hot booty you get to stay. An old booty and you get kicked to the curb
just heard one of my friend got laid off. This company character has left the building. Zero loyalty
And, just a couple of weeks after Vic Lund says RIFs are not a strategy, and there weren't any pending.
After they hired a bunch of new vps and managers who will make more than the ten people who actually do the work.
My guess is they are hoping to get bought out so the bigwigs can cash out.
Must be a mix. Most folks are getting rather generous packages.
Including Sales and Pre-Sales resources as well.
Heard over 350 people will be let go, including many QA and test. Wonder how this will affect software quality.
not layoffs, outright firings!
