I've seen this asked around, but never found a real answer. I was wondering if anybody knew what criteria they use at Chico's to determine who will be laid off? From what I have seen so far, merit is definitely not among it. I have seen some of our best people let go while people who barely do anything but have good relationship with the management stay. I wonder if there is some rule to it, or if it's left to manager's discretion.

I'm concerned about the company wide mandatory meeting on June 9. I'm an asst mgr. If Chico's eliminated all our positions as management they would save a great deal of money. They'd have to give us a buyout or some sort of compensation if we were eliminated.
I am curious to know since Chicos is promoting SMG to CSM's in certain places, where does that leave the ASM promotions? Or will they drop them since they are also allowing up to 4 SL,s in a store ?
You might keep your job if you're H1-B visa. Merit does not matter at all. Terrible culture, terrible execs, terrible management. Good luck!
