Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Dream Center and EDMC

What's going on with The Dream Center buying EDMC. We were told end of Summer and it's almost Septemeber...seems like the deal might not go through. I hope it does though but wondering what will happen to employees of EDMC. When is PA location closing? I read online EDMC files with that state they would be closing/doing layoffs. Just wondering why EDMC is acting as if it's business as usual.

I do hope that when most of you DO get laid off you come forward and tell the real story about the ways that EDMC is screwing over students. Y'know, before they roll back Dodd Frank even more and take away whistle-blower protections. If you truly CARE about students like many of you claim to you would do just this.

EDMC should just be closed down by the Feds and their upper management convicted of conspiracy and fraud and receive prison time. The Corporation should be dissolved, and not be allowed to be purchased by anybody [to continue the scam], period. This corporation, and their executives, board, and principle investors are guilty of felonies, owe $100's of milp.lions in unpaid refunds from lawsuits lost in court. They should be in jail. They have ruined the futures and credit ratings of 10,000 of our children and young folks. Something not to be forgiven, nor merely be settled by 'fines'.

ivlf maybe to you it was about running a school because you're a fool. But to the thieves who mattered it was about money in the pockets of those who have consistently shown not to give a hoot about educating d--k. Simple as that.

I sure hope they get ride of all upper management and start fresh with people who can run a school.

Ask Westwood teachers and students how it worked out for them!

If you're expecting to keep your job when or if the sale goes through, just ask the more than 60% of the Corinthian Colleges employees that felt the same way with the sale to ECMC. Within 90 days after the sale over 40% of the employees were let go and within a year over 60% had been terminated. It's not greener on the other side of the fence.

Well here's the link for the OP. It is in upper managements best interest to keep the lid on things and pretend that the present employees will be taken care of by DC. That of couse EDMC could never possibly promise as once the sale is concluded, if concluded, it's a new ballgame.

Now if things can proceed in an orderly matter it will be in the best interests of those in leadership positions who will reap

the golden parachutes to lull the functionaries into believing that their futures are secure an their best interests are their primary concern.

So soon you will learn how empty it feels to be sold a worthless bill of goods. This may be what many posters down through

the years have described as the very

essence of karma.

I would say good luck but unless you have that in writing be prepared for the et tu brute effect to work its magic one way or the other fairly soon
