When the last transition was named it should have been called project suicide when they took managing the merchandising hours away from the KSR how can someone not familiar with the store know how many hours it takes to drive the bissines in that store I was a merchandiser for over 16 years loved my job being out in the field I knew my stores knew the heartbeat of the store which is the demand I would work with the KSR in ordering who can write the best order someone who is filling the shelves I know how many hours to spent in the store to grow the bissines not some merchandising manager who never been in that account or has not done my job in the last 3 years the system might work in some parts of the us but not in Boston when they let go salesman they did not have enough km to make it work you can't bake a cake if you don't have the ingredients Kellogs forgot the eggs in the Boston zone the people they did hire as km to replace what the salesman did in the stores were clueless untrained and lost i went to a merchandising meeting and told we had to watch training videos I said i hope the person making it actually did my job my mm I never saw him in a store I ask him Jim what the most important thong when making a display and I said I hope I see it in the video he answered wrong I said at the end of building the display you gut the shelve and put it on the display and fill the shelve with new product for rotational purpose how would this desk geeks know what it takes to merchandise a store. They made the route to large with not enough km I saw the problems we were facing and stared to throw Boston leadership team under the bus for not doing there jobs and even send Scott salmon emailsthat got people exposed my major issue was we at Kellogs were trying to create demand instead of satisfying it we would stuff stores with product that would sit in backrooms I use to call those cases extra yards like in football game looks good on the says sheet but don't win football games I ask my zone manager John how he measures success in merchandising he said rotate AMD fill shelves in a safe manner I said great points but I measure success as I order it get it out to the sales floor but most important it goes trew the register I call it the cha Ching factor what welost as a company we should have downsize product lines I don't know whocomes out with the new products but they never came out with a cookie to compete with the Oreo how can you gain market share if you don't take it from nabisco my idea was a scobey snack dog bone with cream who eats cookies kids kids love the filling and to many chezit flavors come on man I saw so many problems out in my 16 years out tithe field they should hire me as a consultant to fix it the last transition killed the snack side thanks leadership team just had to vent I left before I went down with the ship good luck my fellow workers

This company is in the death rattle. Can't believe the stock hasn't tanked.
Once again running a retail sales business by looking only at reports and never going into stores to see and understand what is truly going at store level spells SUCCESS!
You can't run a daily sales organization like ours from a desk. Maybe you can in a text book from St Joe's food marketing in the college fantasy world. K Leadership has absolutely No clue what goes on store level. Sales leadership (DM ZSL etc...) too scared to tell truth to Leadership above due to loss of job or freeze out from any promotion. Putting in layer of New sales reps and PTM on street in Sept will allow said management to blame some level other themselves.
No wonder this company struggling. No real look in mirror at real issues. K Leadership will not listen and internalize any dissenting views. Just placing blame on others and covering your -ss. This company is paralyzed in its love of Food marketing grads that are true market clueless and it's love of sugar coating bad information to upper K Leadership.
Until that ends this company will flounder. Jettisoning body count may work in short term but sales will not increase.
The most important thing on a display other than being a stable display is a sign on it with price point on it to many times I see display up with no sign on it
When u have bad ksr u kill the merchandiser and vice versa and on top of that merchandiser are traveling far distances to get things done there was never in balance to your work day
